Architecture Culture and History 2
Understanding the movement of architecture worldwide as well as in local context. This module requires study and research about architectural history and learn about its details in relating to its context.
Project: Architecture heritage and building analysis
This project required us to do an analysis of local heritage buildings in Klang. In a group of 4, our chosen building were the pre-war shoplots located along Jalan Raya Timur in Klang. We focused our analysis based on one of the shop, which is Heng Huat printing shop, a two storey shophouse. The owner of the building was very friendly and we managed to interview him in order to retrieve information about the history of these shops.
The project consist of 3 parts:
Part 1: Written report (Group)
The elements we focused on included the history of the building, the architectural elements of the building, user and context, changes, concept and response of the building.
Part 2: A3 presentation board (Individual)
This is the individual board I did, which explains the building's response to various factors. This project gave me an opportunity to try out different mediums to create a sequence of visual presentation. Team work is also crucial for the completion of the project on time and in sync with one another. Site experience is also picked up from this project as exposure to different communities taught me a lot.
Part 3: Verbal presentation
