Building Science 1

Passive Design Strategies & Sustainable Design

Project: Case Studies|Identifying Innovative Passive Design Strategies
It is important for architecture to maintain a balance between design and comfort of the occupants, as it would be meaningless if the design neglects the well-being of its users. The case studies in this module are selected for studies about passive dessign strategies applied in the buildings such as natural daylighting and ventilation. Due to the rising environmental awareness in this growing population, designing with passive strategies not only reduces negative impacts on the environment, it also ensures sustainability by providingfactors for buildings to function for the long-term.

The chosen case studies are Platinum Sentral, Kuala Lumpur and National Library, Singapore. The research is conducted with reference to GBI and MS1525. Below are the 2 written reports for the case studies.
